True Love

I guess some of you have known this story. But I do love this that I can't help myself not to share it here.
Here it is...

It was a busy morning about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived at the hospital to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. The nurse took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided- since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.
While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.  I inquired to ask about her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she's a victim of Alzheimer. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he's a bit late. He replied that she was no longer knew who he was, that she has not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"
He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

I learn that true love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

I've Learned #1

I've learned that my best friend and I can do anything- or nothing, and still have a good time.

I've learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the one who helps you get up.

I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want him to, doesn't mean he doesn't love you with all he has.

I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others, but you also have to learn to forgive yourself.

I've learned that just because two people argue doesn't mean that they don't love each other, and just because they don't argue it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to find a secret, it may change your life forever. Sometimes it is better to be clueless about what is happening around you, than to know every bit of information that would silently kill you.

I've learned that sometime people you love the most in life are taken from you too soon.

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.

I've learned that it's not what you have in life, but who that counts.

I've learned that there are people who love you dearly but just don't know how to show it.

I've learned that maturity has more to do with the experiences you've had and what you've learned from them, and less to do with how many years you have lived.

I've learned that the truth may hurt you for a little while, but a lie will hurt you forever.

I've learned that joy is portable, you can always bring it with you.

I've learned that just because something isn't happening right now, doesn't mean that it will never happen.

I've learned that everything has beauty but not everyone can see it.

I've learned that everything in life is temporary. So if things are going good, enjoy it because it won't last forever. And if things are going bad, don't worry, it won't last forever either.

I've learned that at some point you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life. *sigh*

I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I've learned that you live only once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

I've learned that not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.

Happy New Year

"Life is a beautiful ride."

The purpose of a new year is not because you need a new year. It is because you need a new YOU, a renewed soul. Respect the past, don't dwell in it, learn from it. Get rid of anything that isn't useful and all the things that bring you down. Stay away from negativity and open your eyes, heart, and mind to all of God's blessings.

When you want to do something, do it with conviction. When you choose not to do something, do it without fear. Live with no regrets and love with no excuses because eventually all will fall into pieces. Until then laugh at the confusion, live for the moment and know that everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right, and good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.

All the struggles make you stronger, the changes make you wiser, and happiness has its own way of taking its sweet time. Life isn't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride.

Wishing everyone a very happy new year. May all your dreams come true, even the ones that they laughed at.
